The Harry Potter Academic Conference (HPAC) is a non-profit, annual academic conference hosted by Chestnut Hill College (Philadelphia, PA, USA). This interdisciplinary conference welcomes all participants—from curious fans to full professors—to present and engage with scholarship on the Potterverse and find community among other Potter scholars. Conference registration is open to the public.
HPAC 2026 will be held fully on campus at Chestnut Hill College.

The first Harry Potter Academic Conference was held in October 2012, a small forum for CHC students to share their papers on the Potterverse. Since then, the conference has grown in size and scope, expanding the boundaries of a “traditional” academic conference and creating a safe, inclusive space for lively discussion and criticism of the long-term impact of the Potter series. All are welcome.

HPAC proposals are a 250-word description of your presentation (abstract) and some personal information.

HPAC follows an alternating schedule of in-person only events (even years) and online-only digiHPAC (odd years).
